The annual ceremony of the "2022 Enjoy Design Award", jointly organized by the World Expo Museum and the Shanghai Industrial Design Association, was officially opened at the World Expo Museum.

　　After five years of development, the "EnjoyDesign Award"(formerly known as the Magnolia Awards) has developed from a traditional competition into an annual event for the design industry.

　　The exhibition of the "EnjoyDesign Award" design innovation products was opened at the same time in the Cloud Hall of the World Expo Museum, with more than 100 pieces of award-winning and finalist works on display.

　　The final 146 entries were shortlisted, and after the final evaluation by experts, 50 winning entries were selected, including 18 Best Product Design Innovation Awards, 3 PANTONE Color Pass Color Awards, 6 Best Concept Design Innovation Awards, and 23 Excellence Awards.

　　This afternoon, under the guidance of the Shanghai Service Federation, supported bythe Shanghai Huangpu District Commercial Committee, the Shanghai Service Industries Development & Research Foundation, the YangtzeRiver Delta Industrial Design Industry Union, with special support from the Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai, and co-organized by the Shanghai Industrial Design Association and the World Expo Museum, the "EDW 2022” Shanghai Design Innovation Product Award Ceremony and Annual Gala (formerly "Magnolia Awards") was successfully held at the World Expo Museum · WE Theater.

　　Speech by Liu Xiuhua, Director of the World Expo Museum

　　In her speech, Liu Xiuhua, Director of the World Expo Museum, mentioned that the Expo originated in the mid-19th century during the Industrial Revolution in Europe, when more Expos were held to showcase new products and technologies arising from the Industrial Revolution. Nowadays, Expos often use the "body" of benchmark new technology and new means, supplemented by the "form" of creative design and cultural interpretation, to integrate and spread the "spirit" of new ideas and development.

　　Therefore, the World Expo Museum is committed to becoming a design and creativity museum and international academic exchange center that is "internationally connected, first-class in Asia, complementary to Shanghai, and with distinctive characteristics", and intends to promote the innovative concept of the Expo through the exchange and display of innovative and creative products. The World Expo Museum is willing to work together with the industrial design community, expecting the Expo concept and innovative ideas to collide with a colorful spark, and to actively practice and contribute to the creation of a better life in the city.

　　The event was attended by leaders from the Shanghai Economy and Informatization Technology Commission, the Shanghai Service Federation, the Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai and other relevant municipal committees. Representatives of teachers and students from various universities, as well as people from all walks of life and winners of the relevant industrial integration development also attended.

　　EDW Workshops events

　　After the award ceremony, the Danish Trade Commission and the Impact Design Hub Denmark, together with the Shanghai Industrial Design Association and the World Expo Museum, organized a series of events entitled "Design Innovation for Product Development - Human-Oriented Impact Design Practice Workshop". Starting from the actual cases,representatives from Danish and Chinese design companies and enterprises shared the generation and implementation of the design concept of specific cases. From the concept to practice, they explained how Danish design companies actually integrated the "human-oriented" design concept in the field of household, electrical appliances and other products and took the lead in the world and how to integrate material innovation with design concepts and discuss the implications for Danish companies and enterprises. They also discussed the expectations of Danish companies and innovative technologies to enter the Chinese market.
